Our Story

The Beginning

On NCSY Kollel, our founder Jacob discovered that many students longed for Tefillin but had none. He recovered 15 pairs, of which 9 were kosher, and gifted them—creating life-changing first experiences.

The Breakthrough

Jacob organized Hanachas Tefillin surprises, including a triple Hachnasas Tefillin with no funding, just determination. These moments showed the urgent need for a wider project.

The Movement Grows

With support from Yavneh on Campus, The Tefillin Project won Shtark Tank, secured its first 5 new pairs, and started expanding. What began as one mission is now a growing global movement.

Behind The Tefillin Project is a passionate group of people committed to making the mitzvah of Tefillin more accessible and meaningful for Jews around the world.

Our Tefillin

are of the highest quality. The Sofrim who we obtain our pairs from are all well respected and reputable Sofrim. The Battim are Gassos, thick-skin leather, which will last a lifetime. The square is perfect and made by hand. The straps are black on both sides, as prescribed by the Ramban.
